Dr Dormer Retires from Bersted Green After 24 Years

After a lot of thought I have decided to retire from Bersted Green Surgery this Autumn. I started work here over 24 years ago which seems a lifetime away; but I’ve loved it.

Apart from raising my family it really has been my life. In the beginning, I job shared with the lovely Dr Geoghegan and Dr Darling was the senior partner. There have been a lot of changes since then .

I’ve seen it grow from the small surgery that it was then to the thriving training practice that it is now. We have a fabulous team working at the surgery both old (in terms of length of time working here, not age!) and new. With our new practice manager Ellie Davis at the helm, I believe that the surgery will continue to grow from strength to strength. I think that this is a very exciting time for the team and I would love to be part of it but it is time for me to start the next phase of my life with my husband.

With my departure, Dr Henning Schaeper will be taking over as senior partner and so I know that I am leaving the surgery in very good hands.

And as for you, the patients who knew me, I will miss you very much too. You have caused me to laugh and cry over the years and have taught me so much about life. Thank you with all my heart. ‘
